A Beginner's Guide to Understanding Your Website's Analytics

You don't need to be technical to make sense of your site's traffic — here's what actually matters and what to ignore.
Analytics dashboards throw a lot of numbers at you, and most of them don't matter for a small business. Here's what's actually worth watching.
Visitors
How many people are actually reaching your site — the most basic, and often the most misleading number alone without context.
Where They Came From
Google search, a direct visit, a social media link — this tells you which of your efforts are actually driving traffic, so you know where to spend more time.
What They Did
Did they view your contact page? Click WhatsApp? This matters more than raw visitor count — 50 visitors who take action beat 500 who don't.
What to Ignore, Mostly
Vanity metrics like "pages per session" rarely change what you'd actually do differently. Focus on traffic sources and conversions — everything else is secondary for a small business.
